How Booking Works: Deposit Now, Balance on Arrival

Booking a retreat shouldn't feel riskier than the trek. Here's exactly how money moves on NepalRetreat, in plain language, with real numbers.

  1. 1. Request your dates: free, no charge.

Pick a start date and room, then send your request. No card is needed and nothing is charged.

  2. 2. The retreat confirms, usually within 24 hours.

The operator checks the dates and confirms availability. If they can't host you, you pay nothing and we suggest alternatives.

  3. 3. Pay just the deposit. The balance goes to your hosts when you arrive.

Once confirmed, you pay the deposit online. The remaining balance is paid directly to your host on arrival.

A worked example

Take a $540 retreat with a founding operator. You'd pay a $54 deposit online once your dates are confirmed, and $486 directly to the operator when you arrive. That's the whole price. Nothing else is added.

Every operator here is checked in person. See our 5-point verification. Cancellation terms are spelled out in the refund and cancellation policy.

Common questions

When am I charged?

Only after the operator confirms your dates. You request for free, they confirm, and then you pay the deposit. Confirm-before-charge is the whole point: you can never pay for a retreat that isn't available.

What is the deposit?

The deposit is 10% or 15% of the all-in price, depending on the operator's tier. It is our commission. The remaining balance is paid directly to the operator when you arrive. We never hold your balance.

What if the operator can't confirm?

Nothing is charged, any hold is released, and we show you three verified alternatives with space around your dates. You can also message a human on WhatsApp who replies within 24 hours.

Is the price I see the price I pay?

Yes. Every price is all-in, in USD, with the deposit and balance split shown before you book. No surprise fees are added at checkout.
